The dresses of Argentine designer Benito Fernandez will be featured in the new movie of Sex & the City

“It’s a dream come true. What else could you want? This is class,” said the dressmaker.

And he doesn’t exaggerate. Fernandez, besides dressing princess Maxima from the Netherlands, showing his designs in the Louvre and taking part in the Fashion Week of Miami, New York, and Chicago, now he will also be part of the series where the stars dress in the latest Chanel, Vera Wang, Manolo Blanick, and all first rate international leading brands.

“Everything started a year ago from my relation with Patricia Field, stylist of Sex & the City and films such as “The Devil Wears Prada” or “Crazy for Purchases”. “But I never imagined I could be part of this film. It took me by surprise. I feel a great emotion and yet a great responsibility,” he said.

“By far, this is my best time. I can not believe what is happening. And best of all, these things make you more creative. The more things I do, the more my creativity develops.

The news was given on Saturday, when the designer arrived at the Chicago airport after presenting his latest collection, Ethnicity, in the Fashion Week in that city. They called him by phone and told him that they weren’t going to return the clothes he had sent to Patricia to show his latest work, because Sarah Jessica Parker (who is also producer of Sex & the City) loved them and they were already wearing them in the shooting.

  1. It´s so good to hear that OUR designers are being recognised in other countries. Benito does such beautiful dresses, he is so creative, and by hearing him in interviews you can tell that he DOES knows about fashion. In my opinion, he along with Jorge Ibañez are the best Argentinian designers ever.

  2. jorge ibañez and benito fernandez the best? NO WAY
fashion is not only a frivolous element in our daily lives: it is also art
this concept is reflected in argentinian designers such as Jessica Trosman, Martín Churba, Pablo Ramírez, Evangelina Bomparola.. and could continue to cite
